I’m building a
LED hood for a 72” aquarium. My knowledge of
LED’s was less than nothing but I did a quick crash course via the world wide web and I designed a hood using the following parts. If somebody with knowledge is willing I’d like an opinion if I’m heading the right direction.
I plan on fabricating the hood myself, attaching the
LED strips, soldering the wire tails, wiring in the controller and Power Supply myself.
I plan on running three
LED RGBW
LED flex strips.

I bought this remote and controller
2 4G Touch Panel Dimmer Remote Wireless RF Controller for LED RGBW Light Strip | eBay
And this 100 watt power supply
Mean Well s 100F 12 102W 12V 8 5A Enclosed Power Supply Dynasty Spa | eBay
And the following connectors to put it together
JST 2 5 SM 5 Pin Connector Male Female with Wire x 10 Sets | eBay
I wanted solder-less but five wire connectors are hard to find so I’ll solder the tails on, add the male/female connectors so I have a disconnect.
Will I need a cooling fan, the bottom will be acrylic and the three
LED strips will be attached on wood or metal about 2” above the acrylic.
Thanks
