Exclamation Bulk Reef Supply Group Buy 3 27 2012

It's that time again. Time for the Bulk reef Supply group buy starting Tuesday March 28th. Several people were left out or didn't get their information submitted in time so we are doing another one. To briefly go over how it works:

  • You submit to me via PM your email address and last name.
  • You register on the BRS (Bulk Reef Supply) site with that same email address.
  • On the Tuesday it is set to start at approximately noon time EST you will receive an email from BRS saying the group buy is open.
  • You then log into BRS's site and all the prices on almost everything is adjusted.
  • The sale goes until the following Monday.
  • You purchase as normal at the reduced prices and items are shipped to you.
  • There is no commitment to buy anything if you join
  • Going forward, you will receive a discount permanently at BRS of about 5% or so. Even if you do not purchase anything during the buy.
The only items that are not discounted by anything are aquarium controller and ecotech items such as the vortech and radion light. The largest discounts are on BRS items such as: RO/DI units, reactors, carbon, GFO, filter socks etc..

I have found some good savings on salifert test kits, lighting, including ATI bulbs, skimmers and koralia powerheads. Also their base rock is discounted and people rave about their Pukani I believe it is.

RULES (to help me keep this all organized)

  • If you think you are going to want to join PLEASE send both your email and last name to me in the same email, BRS and myself will be going by emails and not user names so we need the two to match up.
  • Please send the information the sooner the better. If you wait until the day before or during the sale it gets messy and sometimes between sending multiple lists and emails back and forth with BRS people get left out.
  • I do not save the previous group buy lists, I destroy all the emails and last names so i have no record. If you have been in on one previously you still have to send me your informtaion.
And that's it. Very simple way to save a few bucks.

If anyone has any questions please just ask away.

Thanks everyone!!

Forgot to add that since we have such a demand for this type of thing that I think we will be doing it once a month, say the last Tuesday of the month. This gives you time to plan all month what you need and to get the information to me timely. I think it will help having a consistent schedule for this so we all know when the next one is.

If anyone has any comments feel free. You can also post any extra special deal you may have gotten during a previous group buy, just so people know what to expect. Also, make sure you sign up for their weekly contest. You can win a different prize weekly or get your entire order refunded!! I won the refund order prize a few months ago!! They really do hand out those prizes. LOL

So far my best deals have been $20 off the ro/di plus unit, a couple bucks off EACH ATI bulb, bought 10 of them and NO PACKAGING fee on bulbs like marine depot or some other retailers. I also get a couple filter socks each order, they go down to $4.80 each and with all my tanks I need a good supply.

I plan on picking up a bio pellet reactor this time around, some filter socks of course and a couple odds and ends like epoxy and some fittings for my phosban reactor. might even get the piggy back ro/di membrane to up my water production. Not sure about that yet. LOL Budget will only go so far. hehe

You can join and see the price then compare around. the buy goes for an entire week and you're not obligated to buy anything so if you can wait til the 28th I would see what's what.

Do you know which skimmer you wanted? I think they are at least $20 or more off on average, just depends on the skimmer.
