CAD Google Sketch Up

I have just one fun quick question for you guys. Do you use programs like CAD, Google Sketch Up for building fun new ideas for aquariums.

I've wanted to. I usually just sketch out plans on graph paper. It's the old D&D gamer in me.

I haven't used it for an actual tank design but I've used it in the past for making stand plans. The nice thing is there is an extension out there that will give you a list of measurements for your lumber. It is a quick way to turn your design into a bill of materials and blueprint.

I don't think I'd have the patience to design an aquascape in sketchup though.

I don't do anything nearly so planned out. I get a rough design in my head of what I want and then wing it, moving things frequently until I like where they are at.
