Can bio pellet reactor replace chaeto?

Just a question for the group. Both do about the same thing which is remove nitrates correct? Other than a place for copepods to live can a reactor replace chaeto as long as it is skimmer out well????

The bio pellets will do a good job at taking nitrate and phosphate. Better than chaeto. You just have to be careful as overusing them can have bad effects on corals and can create an ultra low nutrient system.
