Can I cut Acrylic?

Could I cut a 37 gallon down to a 20 so its a 20 gallon long?

you can, but i would be very careful cutting it, you will need to sand it after to check for stress fractures. If you have the time, i would cut it a little less than you want and then sand it down to your preferred depth.

It is like cutting plexiglass. You want to place tape on the area you are going to cut (like duct tape). Mark the line then cut it to keep it from splintering as you cut it. Formica, plexiglass and acrylic, all cut about the same and splinter without taping over the area to be cut. Good Luck
