Can I use any kind of plastic?

I want to buy a tray to put on top of my tank. I want the ones that's used in kitchens and bathrooms for storage. They're caddies and trays. I was wondering if I can use them or if they're toxic?

Like a shower cadddy? I've seen them used as planters in tanks. I'd make sure to get one made from food safe plastics.

I've seen pot plant plastic used in tanks without problems.

I've been doing some research on plastics. It seems people are using a plastic canvas/ plastic knitting grid. Almost all plastic grids that people use for making a divider or for growing carpets or wall are made from mesh 7 plastics. I've read that they leech out toxins. Is there any safer alternatives? Please leave link. Thanks!
