I am going to be getting my first canister filter, only experienced with ones that hang on the back.

What can I do with the pipes? I wanted to conceal them in a rock wall. Can I run PVC or rubber tubing for the outlet and intake?

Envisioning a tube inside the wall with a side port near the top for the outlet, and below it near the bottom the same size pipe for the intake. Build it into the wall and then attach to the canister filter hoses.

This can be done. There's a few threads in the DIY section on this and even an article in the article section. I think Andrew McFadden done this and one of the Mods(sorry can't remember her name!).

Thanks I'll check it out. I did a brief search but maybe I'm not using the right terms.
