Canister filter vs. 10g fuge

I'm in the process of setting up a new tank 500L and I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on canister fisters vs. fuges? Which have you had less problems with and more success?

I love canister filters, but have no experience with fuges. So I can't help you with the pros and cons of the fuges. Pro of canisters: Flexible, they hide easily, very quiet (if you pick the right brand), easy to maintain without spilling water (once you get used to it), and very simple to setup. Cons: More expensive in the beginning compared to a hob or ugf. But well worth the price.
