Canister placement

Hello for all who run canisters
I am wondering about placement.
The is not quite enough head room for the Sunsun 303b to fit in the cabinet , and there is no room for placement behind the tank. Any potential issues in getting a longer hose and placing canister on either side of my 60g tank or should I leave my HOB filter?

the only thing I see with adding longer hose is water will need to travel further , and the pump in your canister may not be strong enough to push the return water the extra distance back to the tank,
