Is it possible to hook my powerhead up to the output end of my canister filter to speed up the flow? If so, how should I do that?

I wouldn't recommend it. You can cause the motors to struggle as they attempt to work against each other, as the to units won't produce the same flow rate.

You could add the powerhead seperately if you want more flow in your tank, though.

I agree, you will probably want to add the ph (depending on the size of your tank and critters) to "clash" against the flow of the canister's out put.

I agree also. Just use the PH separately in the tank to create chaotic flow.
