Cascade Canister and fluval equiptment

Hi, i have a Cascade Canister Filter for my 50 gallon planted tank and i want to get rid of the surface film. I want to know if the fluval surface skimmer can work with this filter. BTW this filter is pretty good, its quiet, and it comes with a spray bar, the only thing i don't like about it is the tubing, its not flexible.
