What would be the cheapest canister filter for up to 75 gallon tanks?

Sunsun canisters from eBay are cheap. I've had mine for 3 months now no problems. mine was $90 and it's rated for 150 gallons. So the 75 one should be cheaper. You can also get a Rena XP3, better quality/

I just bought a filstar xpl medium on dr foster and Smith for $85. Its rated for 75 gallons. But if you have a 75 gallon look gor something around 500-600 gph. Unless you have an extremely low stock, it might not be sufficient.

Here is a rena chart for gph. All the gph need to be cut in half when full of media
