So I have one...it's only failed once when I manually shut it off so I caught it. I probably have shut it off 50 times since and it has kicked in. It is about 6" away from the return pump and I have it titled in the direction of the cutoff so that gravity can help a little should the system shut down. But after reading around I am all worried now that it won't catch one day. My advisor at
LFS swears by these particular check valves and has them on his own monster tanks. Should I drill a hole in the return to be safe and where would I put it...obviously not in the tubing.
