Hello all,

I am getting into saltwater and bought a 4 year old tank/stand for $150. It's 75 gallons.

The seams looked really good and it holds water. I have it on my patio just in case (new tank, ya know?) and I noticed that it has a small chip on the glass where a side panel and back panel come together. It seems to be contained to the back piece, ie the thick piece has a surface-level chip.

I felt the inside of the tank and cannot feel any piece of the chip. The chip seems to be on the surface and on the outside only. I shook the tank from two angles and it didn't leak.

Should I be concerned if I am using this for a 75-gal FOWLR?

I put some silicon over the spot, just to discourage any more chippage. I am going to leave it with water in it for 2 weeks.

I have a surface chip on my 80 gallon and I left it alone. Its been good for 5 months now with fish and rocks in it.
