Hi everyone, I am new to all this and find it fascinating. I have been watching my friend starting up her new tank and seen some of the disasters that can happen, so have decided to have a hospital tank as well. I have acquired a tank which is dirty, smelly and has black mould. Advice on best way to clean would be very much appreciated:thanks:

Fill it up with water, add some bleach (enough to make the water feel slippery), let it sit, scrub it with a plastic pot scrubber, drain and rinse well. If there are mineral deposits, vinegar applied directly a full strength will help remove it.
