Coralvue Ballast

Anyone else had a problem with coralvue mh ballasts. Mine will stay on for a few minutes then turn off. Sometimes it just makes the bulb flicker. Im just about ready to throw it out the window.

the bulb might be getting to hot... try placing a small fan next to it to keep it cool

I would check your wiring at the ballast and at the mogul socket. The insulation on the wires at the mogul will deteriorate over time. Sounds like the ballast is seeing an overload or something and shutting down.

David at Coralvue is a great guy so contact him as well. I have used CV ballasts for years and love them.

I have had 2 coralvue ballasts fail within 8 months 2 out of the 3 i bought. One went bad within the first month.....and another just went bad and smelled like it was melting or starting on fire....thats right FIRE! Stinky! I have had nothing but problems with mine, and bought them from www.hellolights.com
