Distance between baffels

So im in the process of making a new sump, i have 3 baffels i need to install would 1" inbetween them be good or should i be something different.

and should i go OVER::UNDER::OVER or UNDER::OVER::UNDER for the water through the baffels?

1" should be fine....that's about what mine are. Also, mine are over, under, over--no bubbles!

How far do you have those off the base of your sump, about 1" also?
