As long as you can drink the water out of the tap, I don't see why it is needed.

It would be useful in telling when your RO/DI filters need to be switched out. Drsfosterandsmith have one that also tests pH.

lol! i was gonna buy todays woot but it was sold out by the time I saw it

cheap 2-for tuesdays always go quick =( like roka said I was gonna use it to check my ro/di water
