Eheim surface extractor

Just set one of these up in my FW tank and must say that it's pretty useless.

Anyone else had the misfortune of buying one of these?

It's designed to get the surface crud off the water but this Eheim one just doen't work. I'm trying the Fluval one in a couple of days...

I use the Fluval with my skimmer (saltwater). It works great!

Yeah after tinkering around with the Eheim one all day I ended up ordering the Fluval one. Apparently they fit the 12/16 hose of the 2215 and are meant to work a lot better.
