expired test kit

hi all in july this year i purchased an api saltwater master test kit and have only noticed that the lot number and date expired last year in 2010. i belive the las 4 digits on the lot number is the expiry date am i right.

No, it's the production date, not expiry date as far as I recall. I think they are good for 3 or 4 years depending on which test they are.

The last four digits are the production month and year. API claims that their kits last three years, most hobbyists replace kits every year.

I've found this topic so I won't start the next one...

I just bought an API kit and dates on the bottles are saying 1207 and 0108.
So if I get it right they're expired for about a year, is that right? How accurate are those expiry dates? Should I ask the guy for a refund?
