Filter for a 4gallon

Looking for some advice, recently acquired a black moor with 4gallon tank and hob filter don't know what make

I have ordered a test kit for cycling but the filter is making a racket, can anyone recommend a new filter for this size tank?

It's my gf's fish she's had for 4 years, we just moved in together. So I'm just entering the world of fish ownership. No scolding please, just some advise would be nice

Well thankfully you won't get any scolding from me I made the same mistake too.

I like whisper filters for tanks under 20 gallons. They get the job done IMO
