I'm running a beananimal overflow on my tank...are filter socks a good idea with this type of overflow? If not, what are some viable alternatives to get particulates out of the water? I'm already using a BRS mini-reactor w/ carbon...

I wouldn't see why they would hurt anything over the outflow of the pipe?

I'm just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with it. I know it will slow down the flow somewhat, especially when they start to get clogged. The BA is tuned to allow a particular flow rate, so I was hoping to hear about any experiences here..

Ah yeah I'm definitely not your guy. I don't have that type of overflow but I assumed it wouldn't be much of an issue because it isn't with my DIY pvc overflow. I have to change my socks out weekly or maybe 2 times a week. If there is a reduction in flow it's not noticeable.

I hope someone with experience using that overflow can help you out im sure you'll find a good answer
