I'm in the planning stages of setting up a 125 gallon tank. It is not a drilled tank so I'm not gonna go the sump route. I've always gone about 50% over on the filtration on my smaller tanks. I was looking at a EHEIM rated for a 159 gallon tank but was not real happy with the flow rate on it at 260 g/hr. I would like to get at least 5X on the turnover. Would I be better to go with maybe 2 canister filters at 80 or maybe 100 gallons apiece to increase the flow rate, filter from both ends of the tank, and have 1 back up the other in case of a failure of 1 of them ?

Thanks! Was definitely leaning that way just wanted to get some input

Haven't looked it up yet. Whats the flow rate and max tank size on the fx5 ? I really loke my HOBs but figere I need a canister for that size.
