So, i took advantage of the 50%off deal on fish need it;lights; food;Sponge for the light fixtures. i have a 65gal planted tank that's 36inches long and 24inches deep. i got this light so that i have the option of converting between medium to high lighting. After asking the reviews on light from this website i decided to get it since some AA members commented on how good of a quality it is based on the price range.

3Ft/4Bulbs fixture

This is a preliminary review and so far it's VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!
I hope the Rep from this company get back to me before the one week warranty expires on this fixture
 
If its just a lighting issue try switching out the bulbs get geisman bulbs I would do 3 midday bulbs and one roseatte and you should be good. If its a quality issue sorry to hear you don't like it.
 
First, the order was placed on Sunday, June 30. I understand most companies don't get back to their costumers until the following Monday. But on Tuesday July 2, I still haven't not heard anything from them on my order.

Therefore, I personally contacted them on Tuesday, July 2. A response was received on Wed July 3rd by a guy named S. Lin (initial is used to protect the particular individual whether he's actually involved in the transaction or not, i still give him the benefit of the doubt). He provided FEDEX tracking number

On Tuesday, July 9th. Package arrived at my parents house. Keep in mind that i build this aquarium for my parents and i live far away and can only come back to their residence on the weekend.

Today is Friday, July 12----The day of review of the fixture.

no instruction whatsoever, but it can be easily figured out. just some time to figure out how the four legs are put together.

here's the first problem. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED HERE????? the two controllers that control the light. you can see it yourself. easily fixed though once i open the metal casing. first picture is how it was, 2nd pic after i fixed it. somehow the washer slipped out. don't ask me how or why, all it matter is that it DID!!!

Part 2: These problems are beyond fix and beyond my understanding

1. cracked shield. this is going to be problematic if the moisture comes through. especially with the connections on the bulbs not shield off. the 3rd picture is how the connections on the bulbs are shield from my Zoo-Med light fixture just to show you guys the difference between the two

2. cracked screws. i understand why they use plastic screw, to prevent possible rusting in the future. and i noticed the screw was cracked EVEN BEFORE I SCREWED IT IN

I have a fishneedit fixture and found the quality to be pretty good on mine. Granted the stock bulbs are cheap but that can easily be remedied. Whenever i recommended this fixture to people I always said it would need new bulbs and to account for that. In the long run, this light is a pretty good bargain over the $300 that they usually go for.

Hope it turns out better for you and you can like your light. :) I've had mine for 2 years and have zero issues with it.
 
3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th....problems everywhere!!! Notice these cracks on the ends of the fixture. the last picture also shows the crack on another part of the shield as well

notice how there are cracks on both the front and the back. Each piece for the casing don't even close up properly. that's why you see a gap in the fixture

Let me emphasize a point: I WANT A FREAKING LIGHT!!!

If your looking for a decent light that's not outrageously priced but at the same time isn't built by monkeys check out current USA I have a dual t5ho from them I got on sale for $50 and it seems like a decent quality. Plus every question I've had for them I've gotten an answer within 48hrs. The bulbs they come with aren't the best but aren't the worst I would reccomend switching them with geisman midday bulbs.

i was aware of the need for replacement on those bulbs, which i had anticipated and have no problem with. but these cracks are unjustifiable, uncalled for, and unexpected!!!
