Fluval 406 primer

Hi ppl I have a primer issue I have swapped it because it was leaking and very soft when pumping the air out of canister. I have stopped the leak but the primer is still very soft the flow of water looks ok coming out of the outlet but worried it's not working to it full potential and it sounds abit noisy any tips please thanks [emoji120]
