Fluval upgrade

Im upgrading from my 205 to a 405 fluval filter, what's the ruling on this? Is it safe to just make the change over or do I have to rinse / wash the new filter in some kind of mix to make it suitable for my water/tank ..... Any advice please )

Is it new? If it is you should just do a hot rinse. Don't forget to dechlorinate it afterwards
