what is the ideal light brightness for a tank that has fake plants? I have a 6500k and a 4100k bulb on my tank and for some reason the 4100k bulb make the color of my fish dull out when they swim under it and when they swim under the 6500k it males the color pop but im araid to put two 6500k bulbs on the tank and blind the fish.

How big is the tank, and what type and wattage are the bulbs?

its a 55g corner bowfront. 30 high 36 at its widest. the 6500k is a 18 in sun color bulb and then the 4100k is a 21 in cool white phillips bulb from home depot

Since you have fake plants I wouldn't worry much about it. 6500k is the natural sunlight spectrum. Has little to do with brightness.

Two 18w 6500k's won't blind your fish - the natural sun is much brighter! But if they are cowering in the shadows after a few days, some rock work or extra large plants will help them find refuge if they need it.
