Gate valve on overflow side

Do you think I need a gate valve on the overflow side going to the sump?

I think I have seen them on larger tanks....I only have a 90gal pentagon.

I put a gate valve on the return side but wasn't too sure if I should put it on the starting side.

Benefits?
Cons?

the flow rate should be controled by your return. the only benefit i see from adding a valve to the drain would be if you needed to empty ur sump and wanted to put the water in ur main tank, the valve would stop the water extra water from coming back down
