GE Aquarium and Plant Lights

Wal-Mart carries these lights for $5.97 for a 48" tube. It says they are wide spectrum with peaks in the blue and red ranges (doesnt specify exact color temps). Has anyone used these or know of any reason not to. I currently have a freshwater fish only tank.
