Hi -

I've had the Jasonwell Magnetic Aquarium Glass Cleaner for a couple of years and like it well enough for cleaning algae off the sides of my large tanks. Recently, however, the inside part of the cleaner has filled with water and it no longer floats when it disconnects from the outer magnetic "handle."

While the water has obviously gotten IN, I can't figure how to get it OUT to restore its buoyancy without drilling holes - which would itself undermine the desired buoyancy (unless I subsequently cover the holes with duct tape or similar).

I assume others have had this problem. Is there a good solution besides drilling?

Thanks!

Since you don't want to drill, just replace it. They are pretty cheap.

Ever see the (metal) magnetic telescoping pick up tool / wand?

There is a tiny, med. and large (I am sure somebody has a jumbo size, lol)

Mostly I see the tiny ones which are around the size of a dime or less but often the other slightly larger which is more like a quarter should grab it.

Also saw Ace hardware has a bendable version.

At least get it out that way even it you need to buy a new one.
