Glass filter piping

They look slick. Beyond that, there is not much benefit. People will argue about how some of the shapes do different things, but I have used many, many glass inflows/outflows, and many plastic inflows/outflows, and there is not a discernible difference in the health of the tanks on which I used them. They just look nice (until they get full of algae on the inside; if you get one, make sure you get a flexible brush to clean them periodically as well-- otherwise they don't look so slick anymore when they are puke brown :) ).
 
Kind of what I thought. Maybe one day when Im better with planted tanks and decide to try one of those rimless tanks, then It will be worth the price.
