So what do i need to look for. it's going to be a reef tank but I don't believe it's plumbed. I know to look for cracks/scratched but I'm new to used tanks so have no idea what I should be looking for. Its holding water at the moment so the seals aren't dried out. what else am I looking for?
thanks in advance.

Ask if they have used any copper meds in it. Find out what kind of filter system and light that comes with it. Find out how big it is, some people will tell you that it is a 75 and when you get there it is much smaller or larger. Some people will sell the whole set up which can be a good thing for someone that is just starting out.

Check the seams that there isn't any gaps in the silicon. Look and see if there have been any noticeable repairs. If there are you might need to reseal the tank before using it.
