Got dosing pump, now how should I hook it up for kalk?

I got a great deal on a dosing pump and couldn't pass it up. Should I try to build a cheap DIY kalk reactor or can I just use a 5g bucket w/ a lid and fill it up every other day or so? BTW, this will be dosing my 110g for a week then my 200g until I can finish building my CA reactor.
