grr overflow

okay, so the overflow built into my aquarium isn't staying full, it just dumps right into the sump. Should my return pump be bigger? is this a result of leaving the 4 gallon wet dry and going to the 20 gallon sump/refugium? The noise is drivin me nuts.

I have the same situation which is actually normal. I did a search in the DIY forum and found two suggestions for eliminating the noise. Check out www.dursostandpipes.com or http://mywebpages.comcast.net/domitr...struction.html

Send a message via Yahoo to loganj
A standpipe is the way to go. That will allow you to raise the level of the water in the overflow and eliminate the "waterfall" noise. The Durso works very well.
