65 gallon tank. Dual canisters one intake output on each side.

One heater or 2?

Most reliable model would you recommend?

2 heaters is just as good as 1 big one. I don’t have a preferred brand, but 1 or 2 is fine and won’t make a significant difference. If you have the money and outlets, go with 2, it’ll distribute the heat more evenly.

I have a 55g and just 1 heater. I place it neat the filter outlet so the water movement will distribute it more. Not sure if it works that way bit my fish seem happy.

I'd go with two heaters, just to have less of a temperature gradient from side to side in the tank. Using the 5-watt per gallon rule, I might use two 150s or 200s. I've had good service from Eheim Jagers. One thing I would consider essential, however, is a temp controller to cut down on the risk of overheating from a failure. The inkbirds have been good.
