I have a 37gal tank with three fancy ryukins. Its a marineland eclipse and they have made the most uncowaperative hood! I want to add an aquaclear hob filter and with this terrible setup it seems impossible! If I remove the hood all together I'm stuck with no lights and an uncycled tank. I'd like to add the filter then leave it and allow it to cycle and then when my new filter is all nice and cycled remove the nasty thing. Its loud a pain to work with the filter leaks one of the lights wont stay on and on top of that it grows the nastiest algae...Eww

I'm gonna get an aquaclear 70 btw that isnt too large is it? It has a 300gph rate which is a little lower than the ×10 turnover rate suggested.

Please someone give me a hand with this. I really want this new filter and I'm not gonna buy it until I'm sure I can use it.
