help quick! broken cascade o ring

Ok while cleaning my impeller housing, I snapped the seal. The thing did not want to seal properly, and while fiddling with it it snapped. Can I go to Lowes and get any old silicone seal that fits? Nobody in my area sells Penn plax products! And I definitely don't have time to wait for it to be shipped.

As long as it has the exact same dimensions, yes you can. Make sure the dimensions are exact though. That includes thickness of the seal as well as the diameter. I use the black rubber o-rings from the plumbing section when I need a replacement seal.

Ok great. Thanks a million. I've got my media floating with an airstone, do I have to be concerned about heating that water?
