HOB Protein Skimmer cleaning???

I bought this Aquatop PF15-UV for a 5.5 gallon aquarium.

How often do you clean a protein skimmer?
Do I just detach it from the unit to clean it?
How should I clean it?

Anyone? There were no directions.

I guess, I'll figure it out eventually and post a YouTube video b/c there are only videos for huge canister type protein skimmers.

You should clean them once a week atleast, they get gunked up pretty quick, not familiar with your model, mine has a sponge that I just squeeze out in tank water..

Thanks, Brookster! I don't have any fish in that tank, but I'll try to figure out how to disassemble without having to take the filter off the aquarium. I didn't see a sponge, but I was really just concentrating on assembling it correctly with those useless directions.
