How to quite return pump?

I have a reeflo Dart that is way to noisy for my taste. My tank is in my office and my room is right next door. Could I insulate the stand? Should I place a rubber mat underneath the pump?

could put rubber mat under it.... build a box to put it in to help cut down the sound but still remember about air flow. insulating the stand would also help.
