Is there any method for removing scratches on the inside of aquarium due to sand being caught in the algae scraper and scratching up the glass some

If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail its probably too deep to fix. Even if you could fix it, it would require you to empty the tank.

I dont know of anyway to buffer out scratches in glass.

On this note, could scratches compromise the integrity of the glass? I have a few scratches on the inside of my tank from installing my DIY background in which I used cement.
