What kind of filters are you looking at specifically? Sump, Wet/dry, canister, hang on back, sponge? What size tank? What are you planning on keeping (fish/pants)? What is your budget?

I have a hang on back
I wanted the pros and cons
I was thinking of getting another cascade 300
seems my 75 gal can use more then 350 gph

IMO, you'd be better off looking into a canister filter. A Fluval 305 is sized for your tank, but a 405 might be a better choice.
