Jäger Aquarium Heater broken?

Hey,

I have a Jäger 125W heater designed for up to 300L running in my 180L tank (47 gal).

When I plug it in, the light goes on, the light will stay on for up to 20 mins, then it stays off. If I try to move it to check, it goes on, the temperature, however, has not changed from room temp.

why?

What temp did you set the heater at? What's your room temp?

set to 27 as a test, room temp 21, aquarium temp 21

that's in celcius not sure about fahrenheit :/

Do you have the heater that you can calibrate?

If that's what you have, set the red dial to aquarium temp and readjust the blue dial to desired temp.

yes, I will calibrate it but my concern is the turning on and off

It turns off when it reaches the set temperature and turns back on when the temp falls. You need to calibrate your heater first.
