So, I think this is right. You put the tubing from the filter on the end of the heater, then turn the collar dealie counterclockwise (so it is moving away from the heater) to tighten?

Husband and I tested it this way with all our might and it did not come apart, but it seems, intuitively, like the collar should be turned clockwise, as in "the tightening direction", as in toward the heater, to "tighten." Which doesn't work at all.

Can someone confirm that I've done it right before I start the filter back up? 8O

That is the way that I did it to my heater, and it has not leaked in 6 months - look at it this way, while you are tightening "away" from the heater, you are tightening "towards" the tubing!

Phew! I did run it overnight with no drama, but sitting here at work my thoughts turned again to the heater connections and the 60-whatever gallons of water.....

Thank you!
