LED lighting for 55g Aqueon?

I purchased this combo top and light strip and then realized the LEDs seem to be much nicer.

Do I have to replace the whole top and get the clear glass one? Or Just place it over where the lights are?


And what's he difference between the Aqueon 24 inch and 24 inch twin tube glass top versions. Can't figure it out.

If you have room, I'd just place it over. Depends on how much you want to spend I guess as well and what you can get.

As a side-note I have seen a recent mention of led lights that will fit onto a T8 bulb socket. Apparently ok but not super bright. Not sure if there are other LEDs for other florescent light types.

I bought a cheap led from eBay and it ft perfectly. Lighting is 100x better than the stock

Grand news

Picked up extra lighting on the weekend as well. Went with leds to skip replacing bulbs every 8 months.
