I know how many watt you need for t5 and such but need help picking LEDS for a new nano. I picked up an eclipse 12 the other day and want to try to fit some leds under the hood. Im looking at a 6 led 3watt ea fixture will this be enough for a 12 gallon? Their is also a 20 led x 3 watt but I think that would be overkill.

Yeah they will definatly be good enough for corals

Rule of thumb is that I would want 1 watt per gallon for fish only.
I suggest 2 watts per gallon for most soft corals, up to 3-4 watts per gallon for hard corals. Different LEDs have different lenses and produce different PAR levels. With some fixtures you can either move these numbers up or down.
