Lid or top for 40 gallon (36X18) tank

Help! I need a Lid or top for 40 gallon (36X18) tank

I have a tank that is 36X18. I have tried several lid's or tops but they are all just a hair too small so that when I try to open them they fall into the tank.

Is there a lid that will fit or is it a flaw with the tank?

Can always make a custom lid out of lexicon or pexliglass. Even egg crate

You can make a screen top for your tank to prevent jumpers with allowing good oxygen exchange.

Basically just make a screen window for your tank.
