Aquarium Advice Addict
Getting on my soapbox now.
You don't need an anemone. They are best left in the ocean where they will live far longer than our tanks will be around. These creatures demand high light (for most species) and great water conditions. If we stop buying them then the lfs will stop selling them. Most anemones die in when placed in our little pieces of the ocean. If you really MUST have one, please wait until you have 3 - 4 years successfully maintaining a salt water tank, and have fully researched the species you want before you get one.
Stepping down now.
And yes, most lfs will sell what they have in stock, make the most profit on, will tell you what they think you want to hear, or just don't know what they are talking about. There are of course exceptions to every rule.
