Lighting type for brackish tanks?

I am interested in setting up a brackish tank. Another hobbyist told me that if you're going to do brackish or salt water, its not a good idea to use tanks with lighting built in because the salt will corrode them even if there is a plastic casing corvering them. He suggested that I use a tank with a glass top and external lights. Is this true or could I use some of that anti salt creep stuff on it?

He's right. I had issues in a 29g with a top and LEDs when I ran aquarium salt for a month during a fight with ich. I couldn't imagine a brackish or salt water set up.
