Aquarium Advice Apprentice
Good day everyone. It's been a long time since i've been here. I had to move and unfortunately couldn't keep my old 75 gallon tank, so I had to break it down and sell it off. 
I have been missing the hobby, and now have the opportunity to get back into it. I'm going to be getting a 55g and setting up a Tiger Barb only tank (with the exception of some ottos and a Port Hoplo cats) planted with fake silk plants.
I have a Mag 9.5 that I never used that I would like to take advantage of, but I am wondering if the current would be too swift. I plan to have an overflow going to a sump and the Mag 9 returning to to the tank via a spraybar just below the surface of the water.
Would this be acceptable? I am way out of touch with all things aquarium and I need to get re-acquainted.
