OK, I already love this company's sponge filters to death, but yesterday I was looking for something to protect some fry from the intake of an AquaClear filter, and remembered something I had bought on sale and never used.....and it is absolutely flippin' brilliant! I could not love this product more (and the adapters allow it to fit on the intake of AquaClears in a snap)!

Beats cutting an AquaClear sponge and putting it over the regular AC downtube, as it has a far greater surface and intake area, so it takes some serious clogging before it will interfere significantly with filter uptake. Really polished the tank water, too. I have the Max II (listed as for aquariums >40 gallons) on a 10 gallon tank running an AC mini, and it works a treat.
